OPTICITIES Final Event
Morning part
The final OPTICITIES tutorial session will provide a comprehensive overview of the innovative urban ITS tools and services that have been implemented in Birmingham, Grand Lyon, Gothenburg, Madrid, Torino and Wroclaw in the three year course of the project. It will be an opportunity for urban transport practitioners, ITS experts and Brussels-based stakeholders to learn about the OPTICITIES solutions and their positive impact on urban mobility. Our experts will present the final results for the OPTICITIES open ITS system, multimodal dataset and standardisation, multimodal urban navigators, traffic prediction tools and connecting mobility apps with in-car systems. Also the potential for future replication through the Smart Cities and Communities Marketplace and the Connecting Europe Facility will be addressed.
Afternoon part
EUROCITIES session on EU funding for Urban Nodes
The event will provide an overview of funding and financing opportunities for the development of mobility projects in cities part of the Trans European Networks. The Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) is one of the main sources of funding for the trans-European transport network projects. Since 2014, some CEF calls address the urban nodes i.e. the cities on the network. Speakers will introduce the new 2016 calls and draw some lesson learnt from successful and unsuccessful projects from the previous round of applications. Other source of financing will also be presented.
